Become A MakeUseOf Fan on Facebook !!!
Do you love our website? Do you find MakeUseOf articles helpful? If you do then do us a favor and become a MakeUseOf fan on Facebook.

1. Become A Fan

One of the many inspirations to maintain MakeUseOf fan page on Facebook was to provide our readers with a really easy way to communicate with us and our writers, and to share with you some limited exclusive stuff that's not published on the blog.

The fan page was made for you! It's updated on a regular basis and we frequently share some exclusive stuff there: licenses to premium software, discount coupons, free credits to popular online services, free yearly membership to online services that would normally cost several hundreds of dollars, etc. That being said, by becoming a MakeUseOf fan on Facebook you're actually helping us to grow.

The Week That Was At MakeUseOf.com

It's perhaps the best part of the year. As yet another Christmas passed us by and a new year beckons. The new year is going to be exciting for us to as we look to heighten the pace we have set for ourselves to bring you all that's useful from the world of tech.

But like all that passes with time, let's take a look at all that happened last week at MakeUseOf.com. Maybe, you were wrapped up with your holiday plans or were deluged by e-greetings. If you missed the posts from the last seven days, let's catch up.

The 5 Best Posts From Last Week

Special moments are fleeting. All that a happy snapper needs are a capable camera and few well chosen apps to handle the digital goods. The iPhone store lists a variety of photography apps but if it's free you want then take a look into these free alternative apps for some cool photography.

Google Chrome is heading Firefox's way with its gallery of extensions. Some of them like XMarks, Google Mail Checker and Evernote WebClipper are essentials for productivity. Take your pick from the five mentioned here.

VHS is so old hat but then if you have crossed your thirties, some of your memories are lying around in VHS tapes. This post shows a free and easy way to convert your VHS tapes to the more current DVDs with the Golden VHS to DVD converter. DVDs also give you the choice of watching them on the computer or uploading them to the web.

In the second part of the post, MUO author Ryan Dube takes you through 10 oft committed sins of SEO. If you are fiddling with your first website then this post is a needed read. You can find the first part here.

Rohos Mini drive is a very simple and effective way to safeguard your USB drive. With our pen drives becoming carry always tools, a strong encryption system is a must. This small freeware lets us do that.

This is definitely not all

On December 20th we put out a call for all US and European gamers to download the Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy Game that has been made freely available. Christmas is over but shopping never is...unless it's on your 2010 resolutions list.

MakeUseOf's very own Tina has worked out how to do her shopping in a bargain-full manner. Read all about it in The MakeUseOf Shopping Guide, a free PDF manual for all your shopping needs!

We have more in the queue, so stay tuned. Pay us a visit and let us know if we are doing a good job. Your comments stir us to do better. Happy New Year!
